We’re very excited to announce that Junior Boys join to Ypsi Fest ’11 Line Up.
Junior Boys released the first single from their forthcoming album It’s All True out on Domino Records June 14th (US) and July 4th (UK/EU).
The track is called Banana Ripple and its 9+ minutes dance hit glory Junior Boys bask in a multitude of cultural, geographic, and gastronomic touchstones: namely Orson Welles, Howard Hughes, China, in particular Shanghai, Japan (the band, not the country) Banana Ripple ice cream, Carl Craig and analogue synths.
Spiritualized Cancel Sicily show & Standon Calling Festival.
For the first time in a career spanning twenty one years Spiritualized regrettably have to cancel the two upcoming shows in Sicily and the Standon Calling Festival. J. Spaceman has been undergoing a course of medical treatment, which is near completion, and have left us with no choice but to cancel following advice from his medical team.
We have done everything possible to try and do these shows but it recently became apparent that Jason would not be able to perform. We apologise to everyone who is affected and hope they realise that cancellation was the only unavoidable option given the medical circumstances.
As Mojo wrote an America’s last genius has returned with his beautiful, deeply intimate new album, Last Of The Country Gentlemen (Mute, march 2011).
The former Lift To Experience frontman is a man whose legendary musical output has only grown in stature.
“Pearson is a one of kind artist and words can’t describe how fucking good Last Of The Country Gentlemen is – heavy, beautiful and brilliant”, Mark Lanegan said.
We are happy to announce that Mount Kimbie has joined the Ypsi Fest ’11 Line Up.
The electronic duo from London (UK) is made up of Kai Campos and Dom Maker and is arguably responsible for the birth of the term “post-dubstep”
In early 2009 they released their debut EP, Maybes, via the Hotflush Recordings label.
Later in the year a second EP, Sketch on Glass, appeared and was followed by remixes for the likes of the Big Pink, Foals, and The XX.
We are pleased to announce the confirmation of Esben And The Witch at Ypsi Fest ’11.
Tribal, atmospheric Brighton (UK) post-punk/goth trio Esben And The Witch are considerate one of next big thing for 2011.
They’re signed to Matador and released their debut album Violet Cries last january.
Esben And The Witch take their name from a danish fairytale, one of those stories starring a witch and her oven and the perfect scenario for a witch is a castle!
